This project, to build a working station for 500 kHz started up at the end of
August 2009, and thats when I got the licence from the Swedish authorities.
I was lucky to find a used telescopic al-tower and with this as a base, I keep
on my work to build a vertical antenna for this exclusive band.

Within a month I have managed to get the tower rised and isolated from earth,
but there is still much to be done...

In the middle of october I am working hard with the ground plane system,
both digging in the earth and using a small boat for the wires at the bottom
of the surrounding lake, a truly never ending story...

But now, at the end of October the antenna is almost finished, still adding ground
plane wires to improve the RF current, and also work with the top-cap.
Top-cap in place now and about 2,5 km of ground plane wire, and the
RF-ampere meter is rising...

First real QSO, not only cross band, was EI0CF-Finbar, on CW 2009-11-21,
with good signals in both directions, many thanks for that QSO Finbar
and all hints and tips to get more power in the air, real ham spirit!


Next step is to fix a remote control of the radio and this is almost ready now.
I have choosen the elegant Swedish RRC-1258 from www.remoterig.com.
Today, 2010-03-25, I made my first QSO with the remote controlled radio,

it was PA0LCE-Louis with good sigs and that was a great step forward.

Now in october 2010 I have done some major changes on the antenna,
the old top cap is taken away and instead of that I have connected a
copper wire, length about 130 meter and this wire is drawn out over
the lake to the other side of the bay.
There is a marked difference in efficiency of the antenna, now with this
L-Antenna design I get much stronger reports from everybody.

Next step was finished in november 2010, I have built my own remote
control and with this I am not depending on a Internet connection.
Audio and control codes are transferred between radio and home on
144 and 432 MHz and the distance is about 10 km.
